Anti-Ragging
Introduction
Megha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women maintains a healthy and congenial academic environment. Ragging in any form is prohibited. Any student found indulging in ragging is liable for strict disciplinary action, including possible rustication and criminal consequences.
Functions
1. To build self-esteem and dignity among junior and senior girl students.
2. To offer counseling and legal aid in cases of atrocities against women.
3. To create awareness regarding women’s rights and address complaints about ragging as per Government and University procedures.
4. To avoid and prohibit sexual harassment at the workplace.
5. To ensure an overall disciplined environment in the college.
6. To initiate timely action against erring students.
7. To sensitize students about the evils of ragging and its prevention through talks and programs.
8. To maintain records of investigated cases and submit them to the IQAC Committee.
Roles & Responsibilities
Chairman
Create self-confidence and a congenial environment among newly admitted students by conducting interactive sessions to clear academic and social doubts.
Convener
Submit reports to the Principal based on first-hand information and prima facie evidence for disciplinary action. Recommend severe punishment if allegations are proven.
Faculty Members
Monitor student activities, prevent formation of nuisance groups, create awareness about anti-ragging rules, conduct enquiries, and identify culprits upon receipt of complaints.
