Industry–Institution Interaction Cell

Industry–Institution Interaction Cell (IICC)

The Industry–Institute Coordination Cell (IICC) at Megha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women operates as a bridge connecting academia with industry. The cell aims to impart and create an effective industry–institute interface for the students.

It manages the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities including skill development, in-plant training, internships, industrial visits, student projects, and guest lectures for engineering and polytechnic students.


Functions

  • Facilitating effective industry–institute connections
  • Coordinating with manufacturing, production, service, public sector, and multinational industries for plant training, projects, and internships
  • Organising skill development programmes including workshops, conferences, and symposia
  • Hosting lectures from senior industry engineers
  • Conducting career counselling programmes
  • Running entrepreneur development awareness initiatives with MSMEs
  • Establishing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the institute and industries
  • Organising industrial visits for faculty and students
  • Identifying continuing education and short-term training opportunities
  • Locating scholarship and fellowship sources
  • Supporting departmental mini-project initiatives with industry partners

Objectives

  • Establish industry–institute initiatives providing students exposure to workplace culture
  • Align the engineering curriculum with industrial requirements
  • Provide solutions to engineering problems faced by industry
  • Enhance employability through exposure to new technologies and MNC methodologies
  • Bridge the academia–industry qualitative output gap
